A metal lid is the simplest way to keep rain and leaves out of a small wood-burning fire pit, and this Teisaiko lid comes with a smart extra: a folding fire poker that hooks through the top ring so you can lift the lid without leaning over the pit. When you're done with the fire, the poker folds down and stores with the lid.

Measure across the outside of your pit's rim. The lid needs to be at least 2 inches wider than your pit to sit flat and fully cover it. Let the fire burn out and the pit cool before setting the lid on.
