Almost none of the pond, fountain, and landscape lighting on this site runs on standard household current. Most fixtures are low voltage and need a transformer to step power down, plus the cable, splitters, and connectors to distribute it to each light.
A transformer is rated by total wattage, so add up every fixture you plan to run, current and future, before choosing one, and leave some headroom rather than buying to the exact total. Splitters and extension cables let a single transformer feed multiple lights across a longer run without daisy-chaining connections that can be harder to troubleshoot later. Color-changing setups also need a compatible remote or wiring kit to control them, which isn't always included with the lights themselves.
If a fixture isn't turning on or is dimmer than expected, the transformer or wiring is the first place to check, more often than the light itself.
