Why debris matters
Organic material sitting in fire glass does not simply look dirty. It burns off on the next light, which is where the smell and the sooting come from. A lid removes the need to pick debris out of the glass by hand.
Sizing note
The 1.5 inch depth on this cover is half an inch deeper than the 1 inch stainless covers for the same pan size. If your pan sits recessed in a table top, check the clearance before choosing between them.
