Aquascape EcoWave 5000 Pond and Waterfall Pump — 91134
A 5,000 GPH mag-drive pump built for continuous duty in skimmer filters, pump vaults, and large fountain basins.
Mag-drive, and what that rules in and out
Magnetic drive means no seals between motor and impeller and no oil in the unit, so there is nothing to leak into a fish pond. It also means high efficiency per watt. The tradeoff is that mag-drive pumps are not solids-handling: run this behind a skimmer or filter, not open in a debris-heavy basin. If you need to pass solids, the AquaForce or SLD series is the correct choice instead.
Duty cycle
Rated for continuous use, which is the relevant spec for a pond pump that will run every hour of the season rather than intermittently.
